I was raised and "bread" to be an athlete. Just about everything I did as a child, all the way through college, revolved around preparing for, or supporting me in making it as a professional athlete. Needless to say, I missed out on a lot of things my friends had the time to do. I was what many would consider a deprived child. But I think it was they who were deprived.
